The CCAM Essentials Course

CCAM Essentials is a half-day course specifically designed to fulfil the College of Intensive Care Medicine Specialist High Level Requirement for Airway Management, which CICM Fellows must complete every 3 years.

The course will also be credentialled as an ANZCA CICO Emergency response activity and as ACEM Procedural Skills Training.

CCAM Essentials will also act as a refresher for senior clinicians from any speciality who have attended the CCAM course, who are returning to work after a period of absence, or who are taking on a new role with increased airway management responsibilities.

CCAM Essentials is therefore only open to Fellows (Consultants or Post-Fellowship Trainees) of any of the medical colleges.

Please note that CCAM Essentials does NOT fulfil the criteria for Advanced Airway Skills Face-to-Face Training (required to gain the CICM Fellowship – please attend the full CCAM course for this purpose.

CCAM Essentials is a practical, hands-on course, consisting of interactive sessions, skills stations and high-fidelity simulated scenarios with expert faculty.
